Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions about Oaktree API

How do I get started?
  1. Create an account and log in to your dashboard
  2. Add credits to your account balance
  3. Generate an API key from the API Keys page
  4. Start making requests to our endpoints
How does billing work?
Oaktree uses a prepaid credit system. You add funds to your account balance, and usage is deducted per request. All prices are shown in USD. There are no monthly fees or minimum commitments.
What are the rate limits?
Standard accounts have the following account-level limits:
  • 700 requests per minute
  • 100K tokens per minute (for text models)
Need higher limits? Contact us for enterprise plans.
How do I authenticate API requests?
Include your API key in the Authorization header:
Authorization: Bearer oak_your_api_key_here
Never share your API key or commit it to version control.
What is Zero Data Retention (ZDR)?
Zero Data Retention means request and response payloads are not retained for model training, product improvement, or later review. ZDR is enabled by default for all Oaktree API endpoints. We may still process minimal operational metadata needed for billing, rate limiting, abuse prevention, and debugging. If you wish to cancel ZDR or discuss a different retention arrangement, contact us.
What happens if a request fails?
Failed requests are not charged. If you receive an error response (4xx or 5xx), no credits are deducted from your balance. You can safely retry failed requests.
Can I get a refund?
Unused credits can be refunded within 30 days of purchase. Contact support to request a refund.
Is there an SLA?
Enterprise customers receive a 99.9% uptime SLA. Check our Status page for current system availability.
